Land Rights for Retaining Walls

Learn your rights around boundary issues, and in particular retaining walls - who owns them; who is responsible for repairing them; and what is meant by indemnity value under the Earthquake Commission Act.

Seminar being held for Lyttelton residents at the Lyttelton Recreation Centre, 25 Winchester Street, Lyttelton, in the Meeting Room [not Trinity Hall] on Thursday 21st July, starting at 6.00pm.

Due to the February 22, 2011 6.3magnitude earthquake, the Lyttelton Harbour Information Centre has relocated to temporary premises at 65 London Street, Lyttelton.

You can now find us in a very casual looking port-a-com building, next door to the Fire Station.  Bursting with volunteer staff, we can offer quality visitor and local information.

To check out upcoming events, attractions and local news have a browse through the “What To Do” Section; the “What’s On” Section; and of course check out the “Community” Section.

For local residents come on down and visit us for a chat, share your story, or ask a question.  We love to help, and are here to connect you with other members of the community or organisations if needed.

For all visitors we recommend you contact us by phone or email to find what services are available in the area; or use the online directory under the “What To Do” Section to find up to date visitor accommodation and attraction information.
