A Life of Hurdles; Compassion; Fish and Chips.  Today we heard the most remarkable story from our own Peter Rea. Some of you will know Peter who has worked in the port since 1972. He recently retired from ISS-McKay where he was best known for looking  after cruise ship visits.

Saturday wouldn't be Saturday without a visit to the Lyttelton Farmers Market.  Open every Saturday morning from 10.00am to 1.00pm.

Lyttelton is world famous in New Zealand for being unique, artistic, colourful and at times a little gritty, creating an eccentric vibrant mix.  And, quite frankly we like it that way.  So it is with no surprise that when Jai went hunting for the most ideal place to set up her retail business, she chose Lyttelton first and foremost over any other traditional high street platform.

If the walls could talk!  Next year the Loons building will be celebrating its grand 100^th anniversary.  Built in 1912 the building sits on the foundations of an even earlier building still unknown.  Its location is in the first block settled in Lyttelton, Canterbury - in Canterbury Street.
