cera_recovery_strategyResidents and community groups need to know that an alternative process is running parallel to the Lyttelton Draft Master Plan.  CERA has produced a Draft Recovery Strategy for the Christchurch area and submissions are due by Sunday, October 30.

This alternative process gives our community an opportunity to create the type of Recovery Plan that residents want.  This is a community led recovery, with the view to working in partnership with the Community Board.  We are fortunate to have many highly skilled people within our community who will enable Lyttelton to move forward in a more positive direction.

The Draft Lyttelton Master Plan about to be placed in front of the Christchurch City Council is not a statutory document.  If there is ever to be a “Lyttelton Recovery Plan” then it needs to be identified and accepted by CERA.   All community groups and residents are encouraged to respond to the CERA Strategy to ask that the various Lyttelton Recovery/Master Plan documents can be turned into a formalised, structured and relevant Recovery Plan.  This will enable Lyttelton residents to keep engaging formally in the process.

If you don’t have time to write your own submission but agree with what residents at the Monday night meeting thought, you can download a template submission.   Feel free to use this template in its entirety, modify, or use the blank form and create your own submission from scratch.
