cera_recovery_strategyPublic consultation on the draft Recovery Strategy for the greater Christchurch area has started, and will run until Sunday 30 October. The draft Recovery Strategy offers a proposed road map for recovery from the 2010 and 2011 earthquakes, including direction for major activities required to make the recovery effective, timely and well co-ordinated.

The Recovery Strategy will set out the overarching long term vision and objectives for the recovery of greater Christchurch, the key activities to achieve recovery, and the priorities.  To assist in developing the Recovery Strategy, five key areas have been identified:

          • Community wellbeing
          • Culture and heritage
          • Built environment
          • Economy
          • Natural environment

CERA would like to encourage the community to attend the draft Recovery Strategy information sessions as outlined below.  The sessions will be drop-in style sessions, with a DVD that people can watch on the Strategy and CERA staff will be available to talk to people individually or in small groups on key areas of the document.

Download a copy of the draft Recovery Strategy; and if you would like to submit your comments to CERA, a copy of the submission forms can be downloaded here.

People will also be able to make their comments online by visiting www.cera.govt.nz or by hand in hard copy versions of the comment forms.
