Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority have today released mapping details from GNS Science showing the four main fault lines - Greendale; Port Hills; Christchurch City; Sumner.

While the document does not come with much commentrary, it makes for an interesting read, with the view toward "more investigation is required" to understanding The Gap between the Greendale Fault and either the Port Hills Fault and/or Christchurch City Fault.

Encouraging news on the statistical predictions page, in essence the documents refers that there is only a 5% chance we will have another 6+ magnitude earthquake this month, across the Canterbury region, but still fairly rocky times ahead with the inevitable 43% forecast of a 5.0 - 5.9 magnitude earthquake this coming month.
