water_leak_smallWater or Sewerage Leaks:  If you have leaks within your property boundary you will need to make your own arrangements for a plumber or drain layer to make a permanent repair to them. The Earthquake Commission [EQC] is able to help with payments up to $2000 through the emergency works grant; and can assist for damage caused directly by an earthquake.

Changes to Storm Water Flows:  Have you noticed more water on council land or roads? Is water flowing where it didn’t before?  Any Lyttelton  residents who are observing changes in storm water flows off roads etc or new springs, seepages or changes in drainage  patterns, are strongly encouraged to contact the Christchurch City Council help desk 03 941 8999.  The Council will give you a “job number” which is your record of the issue lodged.  Should the Council not respond or action your notice to them, phone them  back with your job number reference.

In instances where you have been unable to make progress after three attempts, contact us at the information centre where we can communicate with the head of department on your behalf.
